before
Our team space was in need of some major TLC. The storage we had didn't work and the clutter was out of control. When property development offered the chance to pilot a new team space, we jumped at the chance. Because of my background in interior design and my love of space planning, I volunteered to collaborate with property development on the redesign.
design proposal
We had a very small budget, so I got creative. I used sketchup to mock up some quick to-scale layouts of the space. Most of our team liked to work together in the team space, so I repurposed the window space as work space. The property development team was able to find existing fixtures and equipment that met the design intent and gave us the opportunity to test and learn.
The design included built in storage walls that could be closed off. I worked with one of our engineers to problem solve the design and provide a model.
after
This photo was taken the day after the pilot space was installed. On the next Best Team Survey, satisfaction with working space jumped from 64% to 98%. I received an SVP "Trailblazer" innovation award for my work on the team space redesign.
